Can the LED from X-scan be retrofitted into Mighty Scan?

We have 16 Mighty Scan fixtures in our venue. These fixtures run 16 hours / day 7 days a week. We are looking to cut both the man hours we spend changing out bulbs, and our utility bill. Calculated it costs us about $210 / month just for the electricity, not including the cost of bulbs, or man hours.

Since the X-scan LED PLUS is a similar design to the mighty scan is it possible to retrofit the LED module from the X-scan into a Mighty Scan fixture? If so where do I go to order the LED module as I didn't see any for sale on the online parts catalog. I know this might not be a plug and play type thing, and I am fine with that. Just wanted to see if anyone else has considered doing this.

I suppose you COULD do this but might need to swap out the ballast that ignite the lamp. As far as the other things involved to do this I have no idea. As a ADJ employee let me just state that we do not recommend retrofitting fixtures in any way shape or form.

I thought Ballasts were only required for HID bulbs. Halogens ( like the MR16 that are in the mighty scans ) I don't believe have ballasts. I could be wrong though.

I did find some MR16 LED bulbs but they only put out 300 lumins compared to the 900 that the stock bulbs put out.

I think I found the perfect solution

MR16 style bulb LED based that puts out 700 Lumens. Only consumers 8 watts. The specs are very close to the factory bulbs. I might be ordering this soon to test.

Can somebody please verify for me that the Mighty Scans run on 24 volts and do not have any igniter or ballasts.

Sorry, I apologize, won't happen again. I am waiting on the seller to email me the specs, as with anything from China you have to be very cautious when it comes to quality. If the specs look good, I will buy and report back my findings. This could breath new life in thousands of mighty scan fixtures.

I spoke with our service manager and he told me this, "24V 25W no ballast or igniter. Just uses a lamp transformer to reduce voltage."
Hope that helps. I would love to see a video of the mighty scan LED. haha.

Is it 25 Watt or 250 Watt?
I thought mighty scans used a 250 Watt bulb stock?

We will see, I just ordered a testing bulb today. They should be a plug and play setup for the Mighty Scans. We also have some Martin Roboscan 812 fixtures that I would love to convert to LED, but those fixtures use different bulbs with igniters. I would have to remove the igniter and rewire them to accomadate the bulb. No sure how the PCI board would respond to no igniter. The Martin bulbs are very expensive so retro fitting these with LED bulbs would save us a bundle.

I will keep you posted. I am pretty optimistic, as this is pretty much a plug and play swap. Factory bulbs put out 900 Lumens, these put out 700 Lumens. I should have the bulb within the next 2 weeks.

I am still waiting on the bulb to arrive. But in the mean time I started searching for brigher bulbs. The Martin Mac 350 is able to generate 8000 Lumens using 7 Chip based LEDs. I looked up the manufacturers website and found they also make some even brighter Chips too.

This Chip puts out 3000 Lumens. Only problem is they run about $160 each, and you have to order minimum quantity of 10.

There is the other issue of having to fabricate my own bracket to install these.

We will see how the 700 lumen bulbs do when they get in.
