bulb replacement

I have a light called the sundancer its jus like the aggressor but instead of using 2 bulbs it uses 1 500 watt long bulb (makes the blade effect)
i just bought a replacement and there no place to clamp in the bulb or attach it, I think the bulb that came with it was soddered on to th e mettel. Should i soder the bulb on or is there anything else i can do, any suggestions would be helpfull.
