That's what I did. I actually have 3 blackouts:

KILL, 2 second fade, 4 second fade.

Kill is assigned the space bar. If in panic, hit space. At least that's what I think I assigened it. either that or "-"

You need to program a scene that is all values zero. That's your blackout.

that makes sense, but what does the trigger icon look like? there's no list of icons and their functions.

im confused. What trigger? Keyboard or midi? Explian what you are trying to do please. Also there is a trigger section off to the right side if you double click in that section it will pop a window up and then there you will be able to assign a keyboard trigger or a "hotkey" trigger. Sincerely,

keyboard trigger...I finally played around with it and found it, but it would be nice to have a stand alone icon like the "stop/play" icon.

One thing(among many things) I like about MyDMX is that while its easy to use and fairly straight forward, there's enough abstract stuff to keep people who shouldn't touching my stuff away from my stuff(or else they'll get stuffed).

Granted I still have a lot to learn, but my lightshows are simple. Even so, MyDMX has a place in my rig.
