Hey Fellow Light Guys,

I know you have heard this request for help a million times. Whats one more time right?!?!?!

I am in a band and I looking to grow my light system a little at a time. Im a musician so not a lot of cash to spend at one time.

I am a musician 1st,a light guy 2nd!

Anyway, I have the following:
8-Par 38 cans
2-Tripods
1- On/Off Controller - Really just a power center

I have seen all of the light controllers out there. I know ADJ is the best but, I have seen a few similer ones from *BT and **avet and NEW one from *ereinger.

I want to maximize my $$$ so which one should I buy.

GOAL:
Right now I want to be able to control my Par Cans with Fades. Then later be able to add a few more Pars and DMX lights.

I know if want to dim my Cans I will also need a dimmer pack. tell me what are the differences in a x4 to a x20.

I want to Thank all of you Light Gurus in advance for helping me out.

Thanks

I must say that it may be worth a couple more $$$'s to you seeing that you are in a band. I am sure you are on the road, and if you are a bar band. You will be happy to know that ADJ is commonly known to have one of the best support teams in the industry. You normally don't hear the same about the other companies mentioned.

But to be fare check out some other resources **cough**prodj.com**/cough**, and if you can, try each one out in person to determine which one YOU like the best.
What About a Stage Setter 8 as a controller?
I can pick up a used one for about $140 at a local music store.

If I got this one to use with my 8 Par 38s, would the DMX4B work ok? Even if I wanted to add a few more par can or a Intellegent Light?

How many Pars could I use on 1 of the DMX4B?

Thanks
That is up to you. with the Scene setter 8 you are limited to the amount of channels in the future. with the Operator you would have the control over many channels BUT it is sometime a pain to record scenes for the Pars some with the other effects on repeating others without the effects on. If you like programming I would get the Operator.
