Here's a bit of a follow-up:
Most of my cases arrived. That's just a matter if inventory being shipped.
First impressions: Wow, that many cases, and too few boxes.
The cases definately pack and ship well. They really do flatten out. Before I started digging in, I went to my purchase order and invoice and made up cards that had the case model on one side and the fixture for it on the other side.
The cases seem rather thin. Now the real test came. My event involved travel.
All but my 32 Par38's were cased, and my 2 movers as well. But, the movers weren't moving, I didn't want to bring them to this show for their first outing. Carefully placed into the truck, I had more room now than when using the beat to heck cardboard boxes. Everything survived the trip. Now the bigger test: My truck received some damage a while back so the box has openings and leaks. There is a leak issue that the box came with which I was never able to fix. Now the problem is obvious! Anyhow, during load-in, it rained, not bad, but enough. Fortunately, it didn't leak into the truck. Yay!
Overall, the cases seem to be a fairly good value for the money. Personally, I'd rather have paid $10-20 more per case if they used the type of foam they use in firmer foam-based keyboard cases, you know, that more plasticized type foam as opposed to the squishy foam.
I thank ADJ for stating which fixture goes with which Arriba Case in their latest catalog.
In the end, I will continue to buy the cases for certain fixtures as needed(maybe not all fixtures though). I'm not as pleased with these as I thought I would be. I'd say for someone like me with an increasing inventory of just about everything, including lights, these may not be the perfect solution. For smaller rigs, I can definately see these being really great.
