I have a couple of questions and was hoping someone can help. I just bought the VMS4.1 yesterday so I'm still getting used to the software, but I did notice the following:

1) The load time for a song is taking as much as 15 seconds or more. I have the VDJ LE loaded on my MacBook Pro, 2.26ghz, 4GB Ram, 300GB HD. I think it's more than enough to handle the software. Is anyone else experiencing this problem or have a recommendation on a fix?

2) When I adjust the gain on any channel on the VMS, I notice that the gain knob on the VDJ LE software is not moving. I also have the Hercules RMX with the VDJ LE, and I don't have any problems with this function. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for any feedback!

1) Sorry, can´t tell u anything ´cause don´t use Mac. But i heard of several Problems mit VDJ and Mac if not using a Windows-Emulator. Can´t test it, sorry...

2) Thats normal! The gain knob is not mapped (in VDJ Full Pro too!) because there is no "Fake"-funktion in VDJ for Gain, only for EQ. the "Fake"-Funktion is needed because VMS4.1 has his own EQ (and Gain) and the Software also has it. To "double" it is very bad, thats why you see the knobs in Software moving, but without a function in Software, only hardware.

Hope you understood what i tried to tell you. My School-Time is long time ago and i´m german, not often talking in english (but speaking is better than writing^^)
Thanks DJFrankyP! Thank you for your feedback. Your English is perfect! Here's another thing I noticed - I loaded a track on Deck 1 on VDJ, but instead of output going out on line 2 on VMS, it was going out on line 3. I have assigned the CF A to CH2 and CF B to CH3. Has this happened to you? Thanks!
I have a white Macbook from 2009 2GHz 4G ram and 500 GB and have not had ann load time even close to that. But songs that are loaded the first time need to be annualized by to scan for BMP and build the wawform witch could be the case of you 1. question.
Try to load a song you have not played before and see how long it takes to load the when it's fully loaded try to load it again an see how much faster it will load.
What you can do is scan all your songs but it takes some time to do. choose the folder/s with in VDJ browser library the rightclick and choose scan for BPM. If you have lots of songs I would start it before going to bed or do a one by one folder scan. and make it a happit in the future to always scan newly added music.

to you second question DJFrankyP is right about that. The Hercules RMX probable don't have a real mixer only sound card so it was using VDJ eq and gain where the VMS 4.1 has its own mixer.
Hope this explaing and helps to solve your problem
Thanks Gullum for your feedback. I also have an old HP laptop with only 1GB Ram running VDJ LE for my Hercules RMX and the load time is instant. I never had to do a scan. I bought the MB Pro and loaded the VDJ LE for RMX but load time is still long. With the Mac, the screen freezes and I'm crossing my fingers hoping the software doesn't crash during a set. Not a good feeling. I don't know what the problem can be. I will try your recommendation and will post result. Thanks!
Hello, the Gain knobs on the screen are in a fixed postion and will not move, but moving the knobs on the mixer will increase or decrease the input.

As far as the mixer, to keep with the routing of the Original VMS4. Decks 1&2 go through mixer channels 2&4, then deck 3&4 go through mixer channels 1&4. Most people only use 2 decks and having them be on 1&2 on the mixer would be awkward. Let me know if this helps.
Also, songs should load quickly.
Hey Guys, I just wanted to give an update on my VMS. I am no longer using the VDJ LE. That program is worthless. I upgraded to VDJ Pro & didn't like that one either. I talked to a buddy who has the Kontrol S2, and he recommended to try the Traktor Pro 2. Luckily, he found TSI files for VMS4.1 and with a few tweaks and tests, the VMS is working. I will continue to test and will post my findings. Thanks again for all the feedback!
