So its been a while since I have posted on the forum. I want to know with the MP3 functionality added to the Velocity CD Player, has the issue with the buffer (memory issues) been corrected.

The issue I speak of happens when scratching a song that is playing on one side of the unit. The song speeds up or skips a few seconds ahead(sounds like someone is searching through the song). This event will happen sometime after the scratch has been done.

I have sent in a recorded clip of what happens to someone from American Audio quite some time ago. I never received a response.

I'm curious to know if this problem was corrected before the release of this MP3 version of the velocity.

I know when your scratching if you release and the wheel is still in motion, it will still do what the jog wheel is telling it to do until the wheel stops. Meaning you scratch and let go and the wheel flies forward the music will continue to move faster as the jog is moving. The same way as when you release a record and let it fly out of your hands. Is this what you are talking about?
NO this is not what I am talking about. I have posted about the issue before, and others have said they have seen the problem as well.

Scenario: Music is playing... fine and dandy... now i decide that I want to scratch (insert scratch sounds here) great i am done scratching. wheel is let go, wheel has stopped playing, song now continues playing after scratchin has stopped. a few seconds later (might be 5 seconds might be 50 seconds but it happens)...the player introduces the skipping sound or searching sound. skips over a few seconds of song and music continues playing.

I own the DCD 1000 and I have seen it happen on more than one unit
Sorry, I thought you had a Velocity. I have the ProScratch 1 & 2, the CDI-500 & now the MP3 version, and have not had this problem. I have also used the original Velocity, and have not experienced what you described. I have not used the DCD-1000. I am hoping to obtain a Velocity MP3 for testing, but until then I cannot give feedback on that.

I wish I could help you with your current problem. Do you remember who you sent the sound sample to? Does it happen on a consistent basis (every time you scratch), or intermittently?

pretty much everytime i scratch the way i stated earlier, the problem will happen. seeing as how the DCD1000 is a "better" player than the velocity, I would assume (i use the term lightly) that the velocity suffered from the same problem.

Sample was sent to Toby@americandj.com along with my phone number.

with these new sites up i can probably post the clip and provide a link for all to hear on the forum.
