Hello folks,

I'm having a strange issue with my VMS4. I thought it went away when I re-downloaded and installed the updated firmware for the VMS4. I since upgraded VDJ LE to VDJ Pro Full, and (it's a legit copy too) and the problem seems to have returned.

When I try to cue, search or pitch bend the track seems to skip or jump, when in "Vinyl" mode. I still have the rubber rings on, but they don't seem to make a difference.

Please see my video for a better idea of what is happening.

Thank you in advance.

the rubber rings only separate the "ON" event from the "TURN" event - thus making pitch bending possible when using the outer ring and scratching when touching it on the surface.

unfortunately, i dont know anything about the way you map in VDJ, so please contact the ADJ support on this (the video demonstrates pretty good what's going on) or have a look in the VDJ forum too, if nobody of the other users here has an idea.
Thanks DJ Freshfluke... I have already sent this to the support team as well. I have not changed any of the mapping for VDJ. As I stated before I was getting this issue with VDJ LE as well as when I upgraded to VDJ Pro. This happens with any skin I use. I noticed this more when I was trying to beatmatch/pitch bend with the right deck while in Vinyl mode, while turing the jog wheel via the side of the platter with the rubber bumper on, it still skips and jumps in the track.

And then when I tried to "rewind" the track by the top of the platter, I noticed it would jump ahead like it was still trying to play the track, while I was "holding the track" by touching the top of the platter.

Thanks for your input.
I guess no one else has this issue? I can't believe that after under a year of owning this, with lite usage, it's already falling apart. I have NOT heard anything back from the support team about this.

I was warned not to buy AA/ADJ equipment, and I didn't want to listen to those warnings. I was told this was a top peice of equipment.

The unit that is being used in this (http://youtu.be/l9uopC-eylU) video at the 2010 DJ Expo is the exact unit I bought because they wanted to unload it and offered it at a great price. And now I am virtually left out without any help or a decent usable machine.

This is very dissapointing.
Hello DJ Freshfluke,

Ironically, after posting this, and sending a second message to the support team I received a few emails for assistance.

I have found that none of the latency setting adjustments they offered to me worked. I also noticed that this seems to be a hardware issue, because as I was testing things out, I noticed that when I touch any other metal part of the unit while I am touching the jog wheel, the skipping and jumping of the track stops happening.

I have asked what I can do next for have this unit replaced under warrenty or refunded, and I have not received any replys.

My original email/message to the support team is the same as I have posted in this forum.
Hey DJ Freshfluke,

I have not been told anything about a refund other than I would have to take it back to where I got it and inquire about the return policy... but I bought it directly from ADJ at last years 2010 DJ Expo.

I have sent it in for service, but I cannot track the package since last Thursday, and my warranty/repair status page does not have any update on it being received. I just sent the support guy I have been corresponding with and email about it as well as the detail listed on the notes are wrong.

Thank you for following up!
Hey DJ FreshFluke...

After a long battle with FedEx, I have my VMS4 back, but I wouldn't say it's fixed. I'd say it just works. When I touch the jog wheels and hold it, the track moves for about 1/2 a second, but it seems to stay after that.

However, I seem to have a new problem that I didn't have before I sent it in... If I have an effect activated and touch the jog wheel, it freezes everything, and proceedes to cause my system to crash. I have to shutdown VDJ and reboot my VMS4 for everything to work again.

I am about to run it through a bit more testing, so I can see if it's worse now then before I sent it away.

I am getting more and more dissapointed. I may have to look for a new controller at this upcoming expo.
DJ Freshfluke,

I just wanted to keep you posted on the situation... I got my replacement VMS4, and it's still having the same issue as before. And this was fresh out of a brand new box. Others I know that use the VMS4 say I may have to tweak the settings in VDJ, however, I firmly believe it's a hardware issue because when I touch just the jog wheel as in my video, the song constantly "skips" and tries to play. But if I touch another metal part of the unit while I hold the jog wheel, the song stops as it's supposed to.

I can make another video if you need to see what I am talking about... I am actually got to do that this weekend to support the issue.

I dont know what else to do.
