I am using some ADJ products for a live band situation. I use Show designer and a few par cans on a dmx relay and (2) autospot 150s.

Many of the scenes I want to set up will be a slow chase with the autospots doing slow simple movement on the wall behind the band. It actually looks great.

The problem I am having is when changing from chase to chase, it takes a LONG time for the new look to appear, all the while the autospots are moving from their previous dmx values to their new dmx values, so undesired gobos, colors, strobes and all sorts of stuff happens as the DMX values are "fading" from one chase to the other.

I understand why this is happening, but would like to solve this unsightly problem! :-)

How can I make the system (show designer and autospots) "SNAP" or transition quickly, from one slow speed chase to another?

Of course on faster chases it "transitions" fast enough to not be real noticible. I suppose I can use "fast chases" where the fixture just stays on the same step for a number of times, but what a hassle to program!!

So - how do I do it?!?!?!

thanks

It'll work! I do the same for my band (a Show Designer, two dimmers, 8 par 38's, and two ultrascan 250s). I drive it all of my midi controller so it is sync'ed with my drum tracks. I use the ultra 250s mainly as spot lights for the band memebers. A lot of work to program but it looks incredible.
