I am having a lot of fun working with my new MYDMX. My old hardware controller had a button that I could turn on and off that would make all of the lights go on and off. It also had a button for each individual fader channel to turn a light on or off. Can I do the same thing with MYDMX? It would be neat to have scene on, and then hit a button to accent certain parts. Or to be able to turn an individual light on and off without using a fader. This may be beyond the capabilities of MYDMX, but I thought that I would ask. Hope I am making sense. Thanks

I think what your referring too is called a "panic" button. My dmx does not have this. You can simply program a scene and have all your lights on and name it all on or something to that effect.
As per your button at the bottom of every fader no my dmx does not have this. What you got to understand about software controller is they are nothing like hardware consoles. There is a trade off in functionality but the pay off is the features and effects engines on the software's. hope that makes sense and clears some stuff up.
Sincerely,
I have no doubt that the ease of programming with MyDMX is well worth the tradeoff.

Many thanks to you jingles for your quick response. I will be using MyDMX for a show on October 2nd in a large club (while I am playing keyboards). Should be interesting. The cool thing is that I hooked up 6 par LEDs, 4 moving heads, and 8 traditional pars on Sunday, set the DMX channels, started MyDMX and everything worked the first time. Now that's ease of use!

hello, my first time posting.
you can use your keyboard keys as hot keys

in the setup view you can see the 512dmx channels grip. right above the grid on the right you can choose a different view that shows a list of the fixtures. open the fixture and assign it a hot key say "z" for example.
if you go through and put a "z" in every fixtures dimming slider channel than you can hold down the "z" on the keyboard and slide the mouse up and down to turn all lights on or off.

you could also make a "blackout" scene and then hit it to turn everything off and then create a "home" scene to come back to a neutral/medium starting place

Does the above only work when in the 'Setup' and 'Editor' screens, as I can't seem to get the mouse to move the sliders whilst holding the hot-key down in the 'User' screen?

Thanks in advance for the help.
