OK, here's how it went down:
April 9, two fixtures went out for repair. 1 was an ADJ fixture, the other was made by another company clear across the country. As I am in the same state as ADJ, shipping was basically an overnight, even for ground service. The other fixture was to take almost a week to travel. No big deal, this is a UPS issue.
I think I had a fellow web board user put in a good word for me and sped up my repair a bit. Regardless, on April 26th, FedEx Ground attempted to deliver in the morning. I was asleep(We're talking like 8AM and I often work super late/early depending on how you look at it). So, I wake up early Tuesday the 27th to receive the light, which arrived before 7AM. No, ADJ didn't use some priority service, my local FedEx Ground delivery guy apparently likes to get up super early and get it done early. ADJ requires a signature. You know what I think about that? In the case of where I live THANK YOU! It gets into my hands, guaranteed. Here, the 28th, I'm going to check the true status of my repair: does it pass MY tests. I bet it will.
Again, here it is, the 28th. My other fixture arrives. Let's examine:
Arrives via FedEx ground. Drop off, rings bell, taht's it. Plop, ring and go. Sort of the reverse for a pay toilet. Opened up, I can see that the light was repaired: new DIP switch installed(one of the problems), and a new knob for the sound active sensitivity knob, which broke during shipping. Also, a screw was not secured in, but that's OK, I guess, since one screw was totally left out. At least this time they didn't over-torque the screw that secures the panel that you need to remove to access to change the bulb. I hope this ends up working. My expectations are low. VERY low. Then again, this has been a fixture notorious for problems. I like how their free included wash filter was glued into place. I really didn't purchase these to be wash fixtures though. Isn't choice great?
More later. Needless to say, ADJ does it right.
