After a disconnect of a DMX light and reconnect now lights don't come on. Compushow has no control or indication of lights being powered. Please help.

Hi, can you provide more details? what exactly are you doing and what is happening?
TY for you help. Some one disconnected a DMX light to temporarily make room for a projector. When they hooked it back in none of the lights respond to the system that they previously worked in. Can’t get the system to reconnect. Have disconnected usb-dmx adapter, and restarted computer. Can’t figure out what has happened. Ensured the lights had correct dmx settings.
Does the Compu Show interface say PC on it when the software is running? I’d do a whole system re-boot both power to lights and controller. I’d start by powering on PC then let it normalize and the run Compu Show and wait for it to detect the interface and then power on fixtures.
if your not already you should look into getting a DMX splitter.
Ok I had not done a restart of fixtures because that requires goo to a breaker box to cut power. But will do that tomorrow. What would I do with the splitter. My USB-dmx adapter has two outputs 3 pin and 5 pin which we have setup two different universes through it. TY again for all the help

FYI: Figured out that though the USB was powering the dmx adapter it wasn’t communicating with compushow, plugged into Ethernet connection and everything started working.
Glad to see you got it working! About the splitter, you will need one for each universe you are running.
