ADJ ultra go par 7x charging issue

HI all,

In the instruction manual, it is stated that these lights take 4hrs to charge.

Having charged these lights with load and battery switches in the "on" position (as opposed to the faster recharge option) the lights charge very quickly and also drain very quickly!

Is there a better way of charging to maximise life of the charge?
