Hi, I really want to buy a pair of these lights to use with my band but I’ve got a question that I can’t seem to find out from Googling to YouTube videos. When you have the light in “Sound Active” mode so the light reacts to the sound from the band and daisy chained with another light, can you have it so one light controls the other or others? I wasn’t sure because “Sound Active” and DMX seems to be two completely separate modes and I thought you needed a DMX cable to master-slave them together? Basically we don’t want each light reacting independently to the sound source at each individual light. We want one light reacting to the sound of the band and the other one doing the same thing. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks for any help,
Gareth

Hi Gareth,
In order for you to set up the Sound Active Mode via Master/Slave, or Primary/Secondary Mode, you will need to do the following:

1) Set up your Primary light, Master, to Sound Active Mode.
2) Connect a DMX Cable between the Primary and Secondary unit, the Slave, by going DMX Out of the Primary light and DMX In to the Secondary light.
3) Set your Secondary light to the DMX Mode setting, which should read "d.001".

Let me know if this helps.

Right, I got the first light today, and to my disgust in the instruction booklet it says, well all sorts of scary things, warning of exposure to ultraviolet radiation, and so on, and avoid direct exposure at distances shorter then 3.3 metres! Needles to say this renders the thing bloody useless! Although it could be 3.3m away from us at band practice I wanted to experiment with the settings at home, in my bedroom, where needless to say I intended to be closer than 3.3 metres to it. Nothing about this was mentioned in any of the videos on YT. I was going to use a pair of these to make some budget music videos in our practice room but with all the health and safety warnings and various precautions required it's not worth it. Thanks for your help but I won't be taking this idea any further.
