Greetings

Recently I purchased a unit Accu Spot 250 Hybrid, but I have a problem.

Just work on the bulb, and the PAN and TIL motors when turn on the unit, but the rest of motors, (Gobos, Color, and others) do not work (Dont move nothing). I try the test and reset menu on the moving head, but only still working the Pan And Til motors.

Is this normal, or is a defective?

Thanks, Alberto

I can't say.

If I understand correctly, the Accu Spot series are all DMX fixtures. Most DMX fixtures that I'm aware of go to a pre-determined location on turn-on that typically includes "gobo OUT" and "color wheel to open", because the fixtures take themselves to DMX values of 0 on all channels.

If when connected to a DMX controller of sorts and you're having the same issues(color and gobo wheels not moving), then you've got a bad unit.

Simply testing at turn on means little to nothing for those wheels. Some fixtures, such as my Chauvet fixtures, don't support a "roll over" function, wich don't really find surprising. At the same time, I'd expect the same from ADJ fixtures as well: If you get to the end of the color or gobo wheel(say value 250+) and then slam it back to the first position, it's gonna run backwards. This makes design sense to me, but can be a slighter "lighting designer" problem if you do have to change to those colors rapidly.

If the gobo and/or color wheels are already at the ZERO position, chances are, they aren't gonna move at power up.

So, back to what I said: plug in a DMX controller and start messing with the channels for the color and gobo wheels. If they move then, you have no issue. If they still don't move, you've got a problem.
Thanks for the reply, Chris

The effects wheels aren't on the Zero position, they are on a random position, but they dont't move since I open the package box.

I thought it maybe blocked, but i can move it with hand without problems.

I try with a DMX controller, but have the same problem, only works the pan and til motors, like when i try the unit self-test, so finally,I think my unit is definitely defective.

Thanks, Alberto
If you have tried the unit on a different control as well as self test and still have issues, the unit is most likely defective. I would call AMDJ service and/or the company which you purchased the unit from to see about getting it fixed/replaced.

Sorry to hear about this issue, especially on a brand new fixture, and best of luck resolving it.
I'm sure some of us from time to time have had in-box or new item failures. It happens, especially with mass produced items.

Moving something by hand doesn't mean it's OK, as you've discovered. Who knows exactly what the problem is.

In regards to SerraAva's suggestion of a different controller, not many have that option. I do, thanks to my DMX Operator and MyDMX being handy. I can see a few reasons why to try that. But this sounds like something fell through the cracks.

If less than 30 days, return to place of purchase with the box and receipt. You got a bad one. That's my thoughts, anyways.
