Thanks for your input. It's certainly our intent to provide the best possible support to our customers. We apologize for the delay of the visualizer.

Our software developers are aggressively trying to complete the 3D visualizer. When MyDMX2.0 was fist released, we encountered some bugs which required immediate attention and that was the priority. We unfortunately do not have a confirmed ETA of when the visualizer will be released. Our goal was to release the 3D visualizer before the end of 2013 and that hasn't changed. We will definitely let everyone know when a confirmed release date is available.

The end of 2013 is in sight...

Hi everyone, I am James, the new/old software support tech for My DMX. When My DMX 2.0 first launched there was a bunch of unforeseen bugs that as Sergio said, required immediate attention. These continued to get top priority until they were fixed, this put us behind schedule as far as working on everything else we had planned, like the 3D visualizer.

I recently have spoken with the development team to get a game plan going, and after the 1st of the year we should see firstly a cross platform Scan library editor, that way Mac and PC users can create their own profiles on their computers. The 3D is being worked on hardcore everyday but it is incredibly challenging making a 3D visualizer that is cross platform that also supports all of the latest technologies. It has been a daunting task to say the very least. And we hope to release even a basic version ASAP and if not the full version around summertime of 2014. We are very serious about bringing this feature to you, we've even added more people to the project in efforts to get it done sooner. I/we apologize for the huge delay, but please know we are working on it.

As far as what is coming in the next release will be, to start: Multi-beam support. This would be for example, you have a 12 channel profile which is 4x RGB pixels in one profile, as of now you only get one fixture representation and one section responding to the color matrix effects in the builder, this will be fixed so that however many light beams is in the profile, there will be a representation for it in the program, thus eliminating the need to patch in multiple generic RGB or RGBW profiles in place of pixels. Also coming soon is support for multiple pan and tilt fixtures like the ADJ 3 Sixty 2R.
More to come as the next release gets finalized. I'll do my best to keep you all up to date.

My question, as many others have had, is what is ADJ going to do to make up for selling a product literally years before it was actually ready for use by their customers (that's assuming that it will eventually work)? I paid ADJ $300 for a product in 2012, which 2 years later is still not working. We've simply got another "estimate" that it will be ready "this summer", but no promises. I'm fairly sure that couple getting married next month isn't going to hold off their wedding until sometime "this summer" when my equipment may or may not be working. And of course they're happily going to allow me to keep the money they have paid me because ADJ is "very serious" about getting their product working the way they advertised it a couple years ago when they sold me their product.

So you're saying in 2 years, you have not setup mydmx with your lights? If you are, then your one lazy bum.

Casey, apparently you have a large enough room in your home to set up your complete light set, I do not. This is the reason I am dependent upon some basic virtual set up. I purchased this product primarily because of the 3D viewer option, which from the release date has a note on their product description "3D visualizer available in a future release". This estimated "future release" date has been moved back numerous times and is now estimated at 2 years after product release. Let me also remind you of the "Best performance" listing they have in their product description. They state the product is "Compatible with Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows XP & MAC OSX (10.6 & higher)", yet they continue to admit there are still issues with the MAC OSX. For some odd reason the people at the shows I do are not really interested in allowing me to borrow the space they're renting for a few extra hours to play around with my new hardware/software, so I've continued using my old sliders. I've also got a lot of experience with software engineering and I absolutely understand the difficulties that come with creating new software. But, what I don't do is put out a product that is no where near complete. A product, that more than 2 years after release, is still not able to use some of the features that were promised. And this chronic "we haven't been able to fix that because we had to fix this first" answer is not acceptable. This product may some day be the most "easy & flexible" way to manage your light show, but it should not have been released until this was complete. I get tired of reading the responses from ADJ stating "When MyDMX2.0 was fist released, we encountered some bugs which required immediate attention and that was the priority" that were made over a year after the product had been released to consumers. Some of those bugs have been fixed, but others still have not. It's bad business practice to release a product that is not capable of doing what it promises on the day they begin selling it (of course I do understand that there is no way to get things perfect on initial release, but fixing these issues should not take years to complete).

I do not have room to setup 20ft of trussing and lighting in my home. But in the years before DMX software, I made the opportunity to program a hand full of shows before the event start time at the venue. For my smaller single T stand shows, I have set it up in my home and recorded everything to get started within a few hours. Sometimes you just have to do that, even WITH a 3D visualizer; because sometimes the effect of the lights can't be rendered in 3D.

So, if you have not been using your gear and Mydmx2 for 2 years for lack of the offline 3D visualizer, you're nuts! And lazy. If it were me, I would have set that gear up any way possible to get my shows recorded so I could use what I bought. All you people that are crying about the 3D need to grow up. It was indicated as a future release, unfortunately the future has not arrived yet. So suck it up and wait, or pick up a different software package with a 3D visualizer.

well am amazed at this letter. yeah i have had mydmx 2.0 for less than a year but i am able to program my lighting scenes without the 3d visual software and to be pretty honest it would not help me as of now as my lighting does not require its usage. but it will be a valuable update. and for thoes who know me, i was and still am helping out the adj staff on site with guides and profiles and general queries the best i can. all i say is dont take it out on forum staff. it did not help that the former forum admin left half way during 2013 and left people in the dark but jingles is doing his best along with the programmers to get these update ready as quickly as possible but they wont release half working software. they making sure it works before release. but if you want buggy software well thats up to you

I simply do not have the space to set up a 20x20x10 truss box. I don't have the means or time to set up 10 moving heads and 50 pars every single time I want to program. 2.0 has FORCED users to pretty much design on the fly. We are NOT taking it out on the forum staff, this letter is to ADJ in general, who has 'delayed' promised software by YEARS, not days or weeks, years. Jingles left to a company whose DMX software received frequent updates and actually was pretty damn good!

Oh, what if you bought a new car and they listed a feature as air conditioning*?
But when you paid for it and actually started using it you found out that AC was coming in the future, and you may not get it? Well because of the manufacturer wording you thought it came with it. Thats how ADJ has treated 2.0 buyers. The page said that we would get it, first winter 12, then summer 13, then winter 13, now - who the hell knows?
I think it quite presumptuous to call us lazy, some LDs don't have the means to set up a rig every time

If the product I was looking at didn't have a feature that I was depending on, I would wait until it did. Software development is very trick when doing a dual OS combo. I learned from PCDJ's Reflex fumble, that Mac and PC cross platform program is a headache and you can not bank on having a "future" feature until it's already in the software. The timing will always be off.

As far as your setup, if you are using the same setup for the majority of your shows, you only need to set it up once to get the bulk of your programming done. But there becomes a point where you have to program offline due to size. So wait until the software has it before you buy.

So are you justifying their failure because PCDJ did the same thing? I do most of my work in the software industry, and I have never released a product with a "someday it will do this" promise. I DJ shows for a little extra cash & to keep a memory of a job I really enjoyed years ago. I don't have any intention of adding a new building to my home so I can play around with the lights I own. So, this was a key feature for me. I e-mailed ADJ CS before purchasing this product and received a response that the feature I was most concerned about would be released within the next month or two. We're now almost 2 years down the road and there still is no promise that this feature will ever be released. It may mean little/nothing to some, but to others it is a key feature. No one should ever sell a product with a "coming soon" feature advertised that is still not available 2 years after the product was released. After I'd had the product for over a year and hadn't seen an update on the status of a promised feature for well over 6 months, I did write a complaint, and I still feel that is completely justified. For those of you who are so adamant about defending ADJ's terrible handling of their promises, I've got a PC to sell you with Windows XP. I promise I'll update you to Windows 8 sometime in 2014, or maybe early 2015.

I understand your frustration, and I know people are not gonna believe us no matter what we say, not until the 3D is on their program and working.
So, until then you all will just have to wait and see.
