Are there any ADJ retailers that sell with an educational discount?

I only just discovered that B&H Photo/Video gives discounts to public schools, and their discount is knocking $100 off the cost of these $400 Audio-Technica wireless systems I have to replace. Overall B&H is going to save me around $800 vs the regular retail pricing I can find from anyone else, to the point where we probably could afford to buy a few more wireless systems.

I am very sad to also discover they don't sell the ADJ 64 LED Pro, or any American DJ products. I could REALLY use a $100 off discount per LED Pro, what with our miniscule hardware budget.

B&H does sell DMX hardware but it is typically insanely expensive movie production stuff, like this DeSisti 12,000 watt 20" diameter DMX stage light at $22,000 (lamp not included):

Um, yeah, we won't be getting any of those... Eeker

So, is there any distributor that does ADJ educational discounts? Maybe B&H could become one of your distributors? Smiler

I have had bad results with B&H(I call them Butt&Holes). I call in, they start baiting and switching and I end up hanging up. I get sick of that. I call in, I know exactly what I want, and then they refuse to sell me that saying "you want this". No, I don't, I want what I said I wanted. I'm not some idiot. And they screwed with me on pricing too. I just don't trust them. I use their catalog to get price ideas, then call someone else.

I can hook you up with a reputable dealer for AT and ADJ gear.

Note:
Trust me on this. I love AT gear. I really do. I have 7 channels of it, just bought some distro amps for antennas, and I got lots of other microphones by them.

DO NOT SCRIMP on the wireless. Seriously. If you do, you'll end up with junk that just doesn't get the job done.

Having said that, the MINIMUM route you should go is are the 2000 series wireless, and get teh ATW-A49 LPDA paddle antennas. Couple those with some ATW-D49A antenna distros(will cover 4 units) and you're sitting really nice. Yes, you're spending extra, but it's worth it. I am using a Shure UA844 antenna distro to receive signal off my ATW-A49's, which is then going to two ATW-D49a. One ATW-D49a is powering/distro signal to 3 3000-series wireless, and the other one is powering/distro to my two 1400-series units. That still gives me 4 more channels of antenna distro open for new units(soon to be ordered). My 1100-series is VHF, and I'm working on expanding my VHF for fail-over purposes as well as expansion.

I went with some cheap AT wireless for an event, and with line of sight and not even 50 feet from stage to FOH(where i had to run the wireless), they were dropping out like mad.

It's not a matter of UHF vs VHF as I've proven that in some cases VHF can be more reliable than UHF. It's ensuring you have the right combination of knowledge and accessories added on to ensure success. TO ensure my VHF becomes more reliable, I have ordered the ground plane antennas and am trying to get an antenna amp/distro unit, which will merely deal with a single 1100-series unit, but I'm looking for 3 more channels of high band VHF via AT.

The thing to also look for is dual diversity. Get gear with detachable antennas so you can plug in things like antenna amp/distros(which often will also privide power for your wireless units) Spreading out and using external antennas is a good way to help ensure better reception. Since getting the UA844, I've had NO issues with drop-outs. Since I don't have a monitor engineer who can monitor wireless for me, I have to run at at FOH, and I do need to monitor signals strength as well as signal coming in.

Hit my web site, use the "contact us" which is really "contact me" and I'll get you that dealer. He's taken good care of me, he can do the same for you.

OK, off to replace some feedback killers and get a new deck to replace one that needs maintenance. Full day...
e-mail me a list of items you are looking for (AMDJ / AA / GT) and I can get you a price shipped to your door with an educational discount. I'm an authorized dealer for their line of products and I also carry several different brands of cordless mics in just about any configuration.

Put AMDJ in the subject so it doesn't get caught in the spam folder.
