A friend of mine was going through a storage closet of a club/bar that he purchased. He cane across a DMX Repeater and gave it to me. (1)How does it work and how can I use it in future gigs? (2) Is there a way to setup strobes or lights or intelligent lights to an assigned key (i.e. spacebar) to when I hit the key it turns the lamp on/off and if I hold it down it stays on? Thanks for the help.

Can you say what brand it is? Does it say like Elation opto branch 4?
How it works is you would go out from the my dmx dongle to the input on the repeater and then you have as many outputs as are in the unit of the SAME dmx 512 universe. It does not give you multiple DMX universes(some people think thatBig Grin)
You can then use as many runs of DMX cable to different areas where your lights are set up.
Make sense?
I do not believe there is any flash functions in the my dmx program. So, no you will not be able to assign spacebar to a strobe scene and then hold it down and it plays then let it go and it reverts to the previous scene. Not possible in my dmx.
