Syncing lights to a song: Do I have to listen to the entire song or can I cut to a certain time stamp?

I'm syncing lights to a particular song imported into the program. I don't see an option to jump to certain timestamp in the song so I have to sit and listen to the entire song (which takes longer the further I sync) until I get to the frame I'm trying to work on for testing. So in 45 seconds into the song right now and it's taking forever because to test one thing I have to play it from the top each time. I know you can jump to the scene on the steps panel but the song still plays from the beginning. Am I missing something?
