shw file spontaneously corrupted

We run compushow at our church. We've used it for years, and recently the beta program of compushow (before it moved to adj) started corrupting our .shw files. We installed the new adj compushow, but it still cannot open the file we need. It hangs up at one particular fixture. Is it possible to change something in the file to keep it from trying to load that fixture, or to possibly change the fixture file so that the .shw file will not attempt to load the fixture?

Please advise me on how to proceed in attempting to recover this file.
