Newly patched fixtures not showing in 3D visualizer

Forgive me if this is a basic question, new user here. When I patch in new fixtures, how do I get them to show up in my saved/linked 3D visualizer file? Is there a refresh or something? I've tried closing and re-opening. I tried importing the new fixtures but they dont link back to the mydmx file. If I open a NEW 3d visualizer file, they are there but then all of my fixtures are back to the default line and I have reposition every single one again. Trying to avoid that, I have dozens of fixtures and just want to add 4 more I just bought. Thanks in advance for any help. And thanks for everyone who has posted videos, I've been binge watching them all to learn how to program lights! I'm hooked!
