MyDMX buddy needs syncronising and only opens in demo mode

Hi i have just spent £60 on a mydmxbuddy to find out it doesn't work. i have installed latest mydmx2.1 software and installed drivers for the dongle but whenever i open mydmx2.1 it your device is already registered and show an error then open the software in demo mode. any idea?

i think the support on this is terrible, there is no information on how to fix this anywhere.
