MYDMX 1.0 and Windows 8.1

So, I ordered a new replacement system and I thought it was shipping with 8.0, but it arrived with 8.1.

I have cleaned up the system and it works generally well except about every 4 to 5 minutes the MyDMX resets and all the lights flash. If you close the MyDMX software the problem goes away.

Has anyone else eperienced this and has a solution? I have a couple of ideas and things I might try, but I would rather hear from someone who already solved it.
