Hi, Mark, I can give you a quick run down on where to find midi watcher tool on MyDMX5, or as a last resort i could remote view or control your laptop with a program you install and i can look around myself later today or tomorrow?

What we really would just need you to do is; leave the midicon unplugged, load up 5.0 software, open midi watcher, plug in midicon 2 and report to us what you see logged in the midi watcher and see if it shuts itself off or never shows up.

The "MIDI/OSC Watcher" is in the "Tools" section by file edit mappings,etc at the top of the program screen for 5.0
