Reply to "how accuarate is 3d visualizer?"

3D visualizers are dependent upon how much data you put into them and how accurate that data is. I have never used the MyDMX 3D visualizer, but speaking from Vector Works Spotlight and WYSIWYG, it can be 100% accurate. However, those programs let you enter so much data, even to the point of making fixtures and what size they are.

Example wise, all major out door events like the Olympics and Super Bowl half time shows are generally programmed 100% in visualizers and then tweaked and tested once the rig is up. Reason for this is no real rehearsal time with the rig since it is temporary/one off events and can't leave the gear in place for many days.

So yes, can be done to 100%. Not sure if it is possible in MyDMX's visualizer though because of the finer details like fixture size. Also don't know how much data and how accurate the units of that data entered can be. For example, a truss that has 4 fixtures hung on it exactly 10.375 (3/8) inches apart from the center of each fixture from each other.
