Well, I'm not going to discuss this much. In part, this is partially my fault for not carrying spare fuses. On the other hand, this is the third time a fuse has blown. This time though, it happened during a show. Same light, third time it's blown a fuse.
So, I'm angry, of course. I had 7 working 64 LED Pros instead of 8, and the fuse held fine during rehearsals for the previous 20 hours.
So, instead of complaining about it, I will be contacting servie and sending this light in for service. I do need it back relatively fast, but this are issues for me to discuss with the service department.
I have to assume this is limited to this fixture because I have tracked the blown fuses to the same fixture. Other fixtures on the same circuit and even power strip, worked just fine.
At least this isn't one of my non-ADJ fixtures. Of the 4 of those, one flat out crapped out on me. Known for breaking bulbs, it surprised me by not breaking the bulb. I have to ask the question though: In regards to a bulb no striking, what would be some observable symptoms, if a any, that could be observed? The bulb would start to glow and then go back off, pulsing this while I fed it DMX signal. I even swapped DMX cables and the order in which things got cabled up(this was on a second tree). Sometimes tapping the fixture would get temporary results.
So, I'm not happy because I had two fixtures fail. Still, my replacement options are most likely something like an ADJ Par46-type fixture, LED of course. Or perhaps a higher output 64 LED Pro-type. Doesn't matter right no, the funding isn't there. Plus, my Color Fusions are a pair of power pigs, so I want to move those to MegaPanels.
