That is a splitter. It outputs only one universe. But lets you have 4 Points to run cable. ALSO this will protect your interface in case a spike is ever sent down the line. It will just fry out the dmx chip in the opto and not on your interface or your fixtures. So it is a really good multi purpose unit.
