Hi Shyneeting,

I owned a Velocity and a DX5R mixer. Bought it somewhere the end of 2003 from PSSL. They work well with CD-Rs, depend pretty much on the quality of the dics and how you burn it. However, the mixer really limit the potential of this machine. Try to get a more advanced mixer. However, if you are on a shoe-string budget, these units are a good start for beginners.
