Case and point:

A $250 power unit can save $250K in gear.
(I ain't lying, I've seen it happen, been lucky not to have to experience with my own rig).

A cheap power strip with surge suppression can save a DJ's gear. Cheap insurance. Better to lose that unit than than more stuff.

Let me know how well that goes for you. In the mean time, see about contacting support. Check your firmware releases(if applicable) and check your discs. Make some fresh burned CD-R's to play with too and just run those for a long time.

Hopefully it's just some goofy power problem where you are located. I know these things happen. At my in-laws house, the power is really whacked. At my sister's place, for some reason, her cell phone won't charge despite being plugged in and the charging light lighting up as well as on the cell phone but it just wouldn't charge. I told her to put a UPS on it and I think that resolved her issue as well. She also took the charger and phone to work and there it worked fine as-is.
