Audio issues with Versaport and Virtual DJ

I used Virtual DJ with the Versaport USB/ASIO Driver to DJ weddings. The last 3 events I have DJ'd I noticed that the response time between when Virtual DJ began playing the music and when the music actually came out of the speakers was off by about 2 seconds. Then this most recent event, several times throught out the night the audio woueld just stop coming out for a few seconds. Virtual DJ was still playing the song, but the audio would cut out for a few seconds at a time. I do not know if the first issue is related to the sound cutting out, but I am at a loss and need help. I cannot be having music cutting out during an event, but I would like to be able to use the versaport to have two channels of audio coming from my laptop.

Can anyone help?
